Fan is an upcoming 2016 Indian thriller film directed by
Maneesh Sharma and featuring Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role.
The film is
produced by Aditya Chopra under the banner of Yash Raj Films. The soundtrack
album and original score are composed by Vishal–Shekhar. The film is scheduled
for release on 15 April 2016.
On 16 December 2013, Yash Raj Films announced the project
with Khan as the main lead and Sharma as the director.On 25 March 2014, it was
announced that the three-time Academy Award winner make-up artist Greg Cannom
is going to develop the look of Khan in the film. Khan underwent 3D scanning for
his look as a young boy.Earlier reported, Khan was to play a 17 year old boy in
the film,but the actor denied the news, claiming that he is not doing the role
of a 17 year old.
Fan was scheduled to release in early 2015, but owing to the
injuries sustained by Khan during the filming of Happy New Year, the film's
release date was postponed to 14 August 2015. The post-production work
involving complex visual effects pushed the release of Fan once again to early
2016.Now the film is scheduled for release on 15 April 2016.
The first teaser was released on 9 July 2015. On 4 August
2015, the first teaser poster was released.The logo of the film, the first of
its kind with a collage of pictures of Khan's real fans, was released on 23 October
2015. The second poster was released on 27 October 2015. The second teaser was
released on Khan's 50th birthday.
